Pug Meet-Up Halloween Edition

I haven't had a personal blog in a while mainly because I haven't had much time for a personal life but last weekend I was off so I attended the monthly Indy Pug meet-up at Broadripple Park.  This month's meet-up was the costume contest.  I had a wedding last year and could not attend so I was super excited for it this year.  My pug Sidney a.k.a. The Monkey wore his spider costume.  Normally I am not one for putting clothes or costumes on my dog but I just couldn't resist.  Although he did not win the contest he had a great time and slept for the next two days straight.  If you know anyone who has a pug or just needs an amusing activity the first Saturday of every month check www.meetup.com for event information.

The Glow

For the second year and a row now my family has gone out to the State Fair Grounds the night before the fair starts to see "The Glow".  At dusk all of the balloons blow up completely and fire their burners and create a beautiful glow in the summer night sky. It is an amazing free Indiana summer tradition that I recommend to all ages.

Amazing Storm Skies!

Yesterday I was having a quiet evening at home resting up for my Saturday wedding and watching out the window as the storms rolled in.  As the sun began to set I looked outside and saw that the sky was the brightest shade of solid orange I have ever seen.  It was astonishing.  I grabbed my camera and wandered around my front yard shooting the changing light thru the trees as the sun went down.  My neighbors must have thought I was nuts walking around in the sprinkling rain in my pajamas but I am thrilled with the amazing shots I got.  I want to make a note that I didn't enhance these images one bit.  It truly was this vibrant.  Enjoy!

Sidney's Surgery

I just got back from the vet with my poor Pug Sidney. A few days ago he started projectile vomiting all over everything. The vet initially thought it was just a stomach ache from all the excitement of our weekend trip to the Pug Meet-Up but after a two days he still was not better so back to the vet we went. After a series of x-rays our wonderful vet Dr. Grosser informed me that he had eaten a unknown object and would need an expensive surgery to extract it. For most people this would be a scary process. Unfortunately for us this was the 3rd time we have been thru this surgery with our dogs. The last two times were with our Doberman though. When she was a puppy she ate a pair in underwear and then two months later ate a sock. Sid had eaten a piece of a toy we threw away 3 weeks ago. It apparently had been in his stomach ever since. Anyway, we are just happy to have him home and are doing our best to make him comfortable while he recovers.

Indy Pug Meet-Up February

We attended the monthly Pug-Meet-up at Broadripple Park last Saturday. Sidney our black pug featured in the red harness had the best day ever. The turn out was a little small this month because of the weather but a good time was still had by all. If you or anyone you know has a Pug and is interested in attending the next meeting they can go to www.pug.meetup.com.

Kisses!!
