For Sara and Ben's wedding my husband and I got to travel to gorgeous Wears Valley, Tennessee. Sara and Ben rented a massive cabin for 40 of their closest family and friends to stay at for the weekend. This was the most elegant yet laid back wedding I have ever had the pleasure to attend. After the ceremony we went into the Smoky Mountain National Forrest to do some more with just the couple. The backdrop could not have been prettier. We then returned to the cabin for a beautiful sunset and a fabulous dinner. I can not thank Sara and Ben enough for including us in their destination wedding. My husband and I had such a good time and really enjoyed a mini-vacation in the process. Congratulations Sara & Ben!
For those of you who follow the blog I have been working with Ted and Caroline since they were pregnant with Jude to capture the first year of his life. He recently turned 3 months and we returned to Holcomb gardens on what turned out to be a beautiful fall day. Jude is growing into quite the cutie. Ted and Caroline are such laid back parents and I always enjoy when I get photograph their family and spend time with them. Stay tuned for 6 months, 9 months and 1 year!
The second wedding of my double header weekend was Shane & Sheridan's wedding. They planned a beautiful outdoor ceremony at Falls Park in Pendleton. The couple agreed to see each other before the ceremony but a few minutes into the formal shots the skies opened up and began to pour down rain. Everyone moved to the gazebo to take cover and wait out the storm. About 15 minutes before the ceremony began though the rain cleared up and the ceremony got to go on as planned. Afterwards everyone headed to the Fishers Conference Center for a lovely reception. I am so glad everything worked out as planned for this couple. They day turned out just beautiful. Congratulations Shane & Sheridan!
Two weeks ago I had a 2 wedding weekend which kicked off with Kerry and Paul's wedding. Kerry and Paul currently live in Chicago but Kerry wanted to get married in her home town. Paul is from Ireland and was fortunate enough to have about 40 family members travel all the way from Ireland to attend the wedding. The beautiful ceremony took place at one of the most gorgeous churches in Indianapolis, St. John Catholic Church. After the ceremony we took the large bridal party to the Monument Circle and then headed to the Grand Ballroom at Union Station. What I thought was so neat about Union Station is they provide the bridal party with a private cocktail hour before the dinner on the second level so they could look down on their guests while spending more time with their closest friends and family. All in all this was a really fun wedding and I had a great time the whole day and loved seeing the merging of American and Irish cultures. Thank you guys for having me as a part of your wedding.
A couple of weeks I go I traveled to beautiful Culver, IN for Lilly & Ross's wedding. The couple lives in Colorado so I met them for the first time the day of the wedding. This usually makes me a little nervous but Lilly and Ross were such a joy to work with and so fun and easy. The wedding was held at the Culver Memorial Chapel and the reception was held at Lilly's parent's cottage. During Lilly's thank you speech at the wedding she said that the cottage was her favorite place in the world. The weather could not have been more perfect for a lawn party on the water. The first songs Lilly and Ross danced to were songs that were very special to me at my wedding and hearing them for their first dance made me cry. This is something that has not happened to me at a wedding in years. Everything about the wedding was just perfect and I am so thankful that I got to be a part of such a beautiful day. Thank you Lilly & Ross!
I met 14 month old Louisa and her parents at a wedding a couple of months ago. Last week I photographed them in the studio. Louisa is at that age where you never know what you are going get but after some minor bribery with pushing the fun buttons on my camera we got some really great expressions out of her. I had a lot of fun working with her and her parents. Thanks guys!
