Amanda & Alex's Wedding

The second wedding of my double header weekend was Amanda & Alex's wedding. I wasn't even aware that they had weddings at Conner Prairie so I was really excited to see how they did things there. There could not be a better time of year than Fall to have a wedding there. Since I was little I associated Conner Prairie with fall, carmel apples and the headless horseman. The outdoor ceremony was just beautiful and I was so excited to have the big red barn to shoot the formals in front of. Later that night Amanda and Alex took everyone on a hay ride that had a surprise appearance of the headless horseman. I was so excited about it but then I was told there could be no photographs on the hay ride. The couple let me tag along for the ride though. Afterwards the guests danced into the night. I had a great time at their wedding and want to thank Amanda and Alex for having me and letting me re-live a happy memory from my childhood.

Purdue Engagement Session Part 1 - Katie & Brad

A couple of weekends ago I traveled to Lafayette for 2 engagement sessions. Both couples are graduates of Purdue. I started the morning with Katie and Brad. Earlier this year I photographed Katie's brother Tim's wedding so I was thrilled when they wanted me to be a part of another family wedding. The morning started out a little chilly but quickly turned into a beautiful fall day. Although I had friends at Purdue I did not get up to Lafayette very much during my college years so I enjoyed getting to see the lovely campus and having new locations to work with. Stay tuned for their wedding pictures in June!

Purdue Engagement Session Part 2 - Katie & John

Later that afternoon I met up with Katie and John. We started at the location where they actually got engaged. Katie and John are living apart for the time being so this was a fun weekend for them to be together and start some of their wedding activities. As we walked around the Purdue campus we made the connection that John and Brad were fraternity brothers. I am amazed at how small a world this is. All in all it was a beautiful day in Lafayette and I am so glad the weather was so gorgeous for these two couples. I can't wait for both of the weddings!

Catey's 6 Month Session

The leaves could not have turned at a better time for Catey's 6 month session. For those of you who follow the blog, I have been photographing Catey every 3 months since she was 2 days old. It has been amazing to see how she has grown and not to mention how much she looks like her daddy. Heather and Mark sat in for this session and I am so glad we had such beautiful fall colors to work with. Stay tuned for the 9 month session.

Emma & Forrest's Wedding

A few weeks ago I went to the State Museum for Emma & Forrest's wedding and reception. I love when I get a chance to shoot on the canal especially when the weather is as lovely as it was for their day. Emma and Forrest have known each other since high school and they were a lot of fun to work with. Emma's grandfather officiated the ceremony which made it all the more special. The couple were headed to Paris for their honeymoon and I hope they had an amazing time!

Susan & Michael's Wedding

This wedding was especially exciting for me because Susan and I went to middle and high school together. Although we lost touch after high school we reconnected recently and Susan hired me to shoot her wedding. Susan met her Australian husband Michael at Camp Tecumseh years ago. After living in the U.S. and Australia they have settled in Atlanta for the time being. They held the wedding at Montage and all day the clouds threatened to ruin their beautiful outdoor ceremony but as the ceremony time rolled around the storm held off and they had dramatic clouds hanging above them for their wedding which I though was a fabulous touch. It never did rain that day and the wedding and reception were an amazing joyous occasion. It was so great to be a part of Susan's wedding as well as see old friends. I hope they have an amazing time in Jamaica. I am so jealous!
